Kawaii milk carton pencil cases!

Recently, I stopped my one of my favorite gift shop, Morning Glory! Morning glory is located at El Camino Real Santa Clara. It is a cute little shop with cute stationary, toys, and fashion accessories mostly from Korea!

I got a little crazy when I saw the cutest pencil case! Milk carton shaped cases! I couldn’t decided between the three… so I got them all! From the left to the right, there is mint choco milk, banana milk, and watermelon milk! The characters on them are called “Moongs” and its a panda and a seal? Not too sure what the all white one is but they sure are cute! Moongs are also on notebooks and pencils.

Check out the store if you’re in the area: Morning Glory Yelp

If not, check on the online store! http://morninggloryus.com/

Cute character pouches!

Plushies?? Nah, they are pouches! Aren’t they cute? These pouches can be used for almost anything you want! As for me, I use them to hold coins, phone accessories (clip on fish eye lens, external charger), cosmetic essentials, and even cards (credit cards, clipper card).

Both Rilakkuma ones were gifted to me. The sea otter one is from Japan! My friend who visited Japan this year, came back with a little gift for me; she’s so sweet! The other/ flatter Rilakkuma was a secret santa gift from years ago.

The Totoro one my boyfriend ordered for me online (I forgot the site) and it was like, $10.00! It is actually a replica (hence the price). The authentic one has better quality and te white around the eyes are embroidered. You can find one at Kinokuniya! I think it is around $20

Jiji (black cat with red bow) was from Japan Expo! A exposition that was all anime and Japanese culture. I adore Jiji, who is from Studio Ghibli’s “Kiki’s Delivery Service”, and I instantly had to get it when I saw it at a dealer’s booth.

Lastly, the sleeping Dale Tsum Tsum pouch! Super cute and it was the last one when I bought it at the Disney Store! Typically, the “sleeping tsum tsum” are available in Japan (and probably Japanese online stores) so I was so excited to find it at the Disney Store!

Rilakkuma by San-X

Meet Rilakkuma and his friends, Korilakkuma (white bear) and Kiiroitori (yellow chick)! Rilakkuma, in Japanese, translates to “relaxed bear” or “bear in relaxed mood.” He is a very popular mascot in Japan and an official character from San-X, one of the largest character oriented stationary and gift manufacturing companies in Japan.

Rilakkuma is a super cute, and super lazy, soft toy bear. He has a zipper on his back and it is still unknown why he has it. He is the “spirit animal” of mine and here is a little description of him (you might also find it relatable, or wish to be him) from his profile:

At all time and everywhere he goes he is continuously lazy and relaxed.
He is totally stress-free and also doing things on his own pace.
He is someone impossible to be hated by others.
You will be dragged into Rilakkuma’s world and become lazy and relaxed while watching what everything he does.

Korilakkuma is a friend of Rilakkuma. The yellow chick Kiiroitori, named her Korilkkuma (“ko” means small or child in Japanese) because she looked like a smaller version on Rilakkuma. She is a white bear with a red button on her chest, instead of a zipper on the back like Rilakkuma (both bears are not real, but stuffed toys). She is described as mischievous and often tries to act (and look up to) Rilakkuma. She loves strawberries, playing with her radio, and remote controlled duck toy.

Kiiroitori is the little yellow guy. Both Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma showed up at his owners, Kaoru, house out of nowhere. Kiiroitori translates to “yellow bird” and he is a canary. In the trio, Kiiroitori is unlike Rilakkuma and is well- behaved. He would come out from his birdcage and scold at Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma for being lazy and making trouble.

All together, they make the cutest trio and I am obsessed with these characters. Growing up I had phases of favorite characters such as Domo and Hello Kitty (I still adore Hello Kitty). But when I discovered Rilakkuma – I instantly fell in love and I never got bored of him or fell out of the phase. My room is currently filled with Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma and my collection of them is still on going.

Stay tuned for my cute things!

What’s Cute?

What is cute? Cute is an adjective and according to dictionary.com, cute/ cuteness is:
1. attractive, especially in a dainty way; pleasingly pretty.
2. appealing and delightful; charming.
3. affectedly or mincingly pretty or clever; precious.

To me, cuteness can be a person, a place, or a thing! Babies are cute, a girl or guy can be cute and charming, a park area or cafe spot can be visually pleasant to look and be at, clothing or fashion style can be cute, and definitely all types of toys can be considered cute. A cute person, place, or thing can depend on personality, style, and appearance. In my opinion, a cute person would have a bubbly personality and also like cute things. A fashion style with a color theme of pink or light colors are cute. Same with toys, their color coordination and big-beady eyes can suck you into their cuteness. And don’t forget, all animals and pets can be cute, too! I am able to find cuteness in everything, and I hope you do as well! Hopefully you’re checking out my blog because you have similar interests or you are just curious to “what’s cute?”
